FIBER/SYNTHETIC ROPES
(5 products)
Natural and synthetic ropes exhibit distinct differences in their composition, applications, and longevity. Natural ropes are made from organic fibers like hemp, cotton, and manila, while synthetic ropes are manufactured from man-made materials such as nylon, polyester, and polypropylene. Natural ropes are commonly used for decoration, gardening, and sports, whereas synthetic ropes have a wide range of industrial, marine, and athletic applications. Furthermore, synthetic ropes are generally stronger, more durable, and longer-lasting than their natural counterparts, which are more susceptible to rot, mildew, and wear. However, natural ropes are more eco-friendly, while synthetic ropes can release harmful byproducts during production. Regarding weather resistance, natural ropes perform better in high temperatures but can deteriorate in wet conditions, whereas synthetic ropes excel in wet environments but may melt when exposed to heat. Regardless of the type, all rope slings require periodic inspection, at least annually for normal use and more frequently for severe applications.
